Wrong. So last night was class night, and our class is pathetic and tiny, so there were probably 40 of us there, dressed in our theme (yeah Risky Business), but we were spirited as hell. Every single one of us gave it our all. Furthermore, we've never won class night. And furthermore, we were there first, smack in front of the president's door. So then the 2011s come in with their Grease theme (ps, my dorm did that last year, nice job). And there's a ton of them. And they're loud, and they're obnoxious, and frankly, they're rude and disrespectful. Some of them were smoking on the President's lawn. And they chanted rude things, they cheered over our cheer. Basically, it was ridiculous. And the 2012s and 2010s barely had a showing.
So, the winner is based on how well your group follows the theme, how well your group follows the rules, your spirit, and your turnout. Obviously, we didn't have the turnout, but everything else was there, and we were completely respectful of everyone else. And did I mention we've never won Mountain Day (first freshmen class to not win class night in YEARS), because we were always overshadow by the 2008s. Except last year, when the 2011s won.
So we won. Go us. No one was expecting it, but we deserved. So then all the freaking sophomores start pitching a hissy fit and saying it's rigged. Okay, kiss my ass. They won last year, and they didn't follow the rules. And it's not rigged for seniors, because the seniors NEVER win. And in the grand scheme of things, does it matter? You get $100 for your class. That's it. If I had $100, I would freaking give it to the 2011s. That's how much it doesn't matter. So we go to the bar as a class last night, and I go home, do my work, and go to bed, expecting it to blow over.

And then I wake up this morning to a facebook group called "The 2011s are the real winners of Mountain Day." Seriously? Are you fucking kidding me? Can we grow up?
We're supposed to be uniting as a school to get a day off from classes. Nothing like missing the point. We won because we gave it our all and we were respectful, which goes a long with Dr. Meier and SA Exec.
My friend Jeremy and I decided that not only are we the College Dems/Republicans bridge, we now have to bridge the gap between the 2009s and 2011s. At least one of them is reasonable.
But I'm over it.
