I'm really sad. I hate to see Spring Awakening close. I absolutely hate it. It sucks. SA was my comfort when I heard about RENT..."oh, well, SA will be there for awhile." Or not. As Kayleigh said, "now we need a new show." It completely destroys my plans of seeing it on a nightly basis when I'm in NYC. I hate to see a show that's actually a good, legitimate, meaningful piece of theater with a real, relevant message go when shows like The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Mamma Mia!, and Mary Poppins are still going strong. But shows like SA don't appeal to families and don't appeal to non-theatre going theatre goers (if that makes sense...I think it does), and I think that's what brought it down. And its fanbase is comprised of poor young kids who would love to see it all the time but frankly don't have the money, like me. I will miss the show dearly, but by the time it closes, I'll have seen it 5 times (6 with the tour, 7 if Kayleigh and I go down during xmas break with Mariah), and that's way more than a lot of people who love the show, and I'm really thankful for that.
All that being said, HOLY SHIT WE'RE GOING TO THE LAST PERFORMANCE! Not that I want to wish the show away, but I'm so freaking excited. The energy in that theater is going to be like nothing I've ever seen in my life. I know that's how it was with Jon and Lea's last, and this is so much more than that. It's already sold out for Christ's sake. And the stage door? Oh my god. I'm actually kind of glad we're in the back because we can sneak out really easily. My sister is awesome and my hero.

I'll get through this. There will be other shows, I know there will. There will be other casts to follow, other cast recordings to memorize, other actors to stalk in Times Square (or Blake could do a new show, and I can continue to stalk him, because he'll always be my husband...esp according to the Ouiji Board last night).
And just for fun...

This is my favorite part of the set.
