Back to the grind

Now the season's over and I feel it getting cold

I wish I could take you to some sandy beach where we'd never grow old

-Bruce

Ugh, tomorrow is the day I've been dreading all summer. I love school and I can't wait to go back, but I'm going to have a really hard time leaving my boys :( I love them very much and I hate being away for such long periods of time. I've never been away from Luke for this long, and with Matthew it will be hard because we've gotten really close this summer and have spent a lot of time together. They grow up so fast and I miss so much when I'm gone. The stretch from leaving at the end of the summer until October break is the longest (7 weeks), and this is the first year since freshman year that I'm not coming home sometime in between (unless circumstances arise). It will be hard for everyone I think, but I will be anxiously awaiting October, for more reasons than one...like, I'll have money then. Oh yeah, and I'll get to see my boys. But this has been a great summer, between Bruce Springsteen and New York and my 21st, and oh yeah, Luke being born :D

Anyway, I'm hoping this year will be fantastic. My schedule for Term I is rough, and I need to study for the GREs and do the whole internship thing. But, I should probably set some goals, so here goes...

1. Keep the 3.6, if not improve it.

2. GREs on October 25...750 verbal, 600 quantative, 4 on the writing.

3. GET INTO NYU!

4. Keep my room relatively clean

5. Really work on the whole weight loss thing. I want to do it before I move to the city.
6. Get College Republicans to CPAC.

Also, I think we'll do a lot of fun things this year. I really hope that soon we can get to New York and do onstage seats with Jamie. I keep pulling up BB12 (my faveee) for September 13th...we'll see how things go with my books, and hopefully we can get there in November, if not sooner. Every October weekend is booked and I have no money this month, not to mention Blake is on vacation from the 15th until the 23rd, so it would have to be after :D Or before. But I doubt those seats will last anyway, so November it is. I do actually need to get down to the city. I know I like the area, but I should probably visit schools.

Anyway, this is the orientation where the beanies come back.

I know this is a heinous picture, cropped out of a group shot, but it was the only one I could find. I can't believe it. I feel like I just started. I've come so far. So anyway, it's time to sing to the freshmen, sit on the other side of the puddle for candlelight, and wear the beanie to the bar the night before classes start and drink as much as possible.

OMG, my room is wonderful. Pictures to come.

Anywho, here's the schedule:

MWF:

8-9: Yoga

9:10-10:10-Perspectives on the American Dream

10:20-11:20-Psych

2:25-3:25-The US in the World Arena (LAUREN CRAMER!)

TR:

8:15-9:45-Women and Nature (with Jamie!)

9:55-11:25-History of Colonial and Revolutionary America

1:40-3:10-The Enlightenment

So anyway, she's a bitch. But I have 2 Charlie Mitchell classes, which will be wonderful. At the same time, I need to juggle College Republicans, find some time to tutor, do the whole radio show thing, and study for the GREs. Should be a blast. But honestly, who needs sleep? My life is waiting for me.
